Cube Runner: Level Packs

I finally found some places for Cube Runner Level Packs.  There’s a whole forum devoted to the development and implementation of various Cube Runner items.  You can find it here.  They have a whole set of levels that people have created (it’s just a simple text file with a few extra items and uses x’s for the various cubes).

There’s also a tool for creating custom levels: here’s a hint, don’t set the speed on 30 and put x’s everywhere.  If you want to find out what this does, check this guy out: http://cuberun.org/OuterLimits.txt

With the custom level tool you can randomly seed the field with cubes as well as specifically orient your cubes with x’s.

That was my first try, and it ate me alive.  Anyway, there are a myriad of prefabricated levels for you to try with Cube Runner.

To load level packs in Cube Runner, simply launch the app and select “Select Level Pack” from the main game menu.

Then, choose “Add Level Pack” on the right.  you’ll be prompted to enter the URL of the level pack.

Simply enter said URL (for instance, http://cuberun.org/BeggarsCanyon.txt [not mine, by the way, from the cuberun.org forums]) and hit ‘ok’.

You’ll be returned to the Maintain Level Packs screen, from which you should select ‘Beggars Canyon’ from the ‘Third Party Level Packs’ area in the lower left, then hit done.

Back at the Main Game Menu, select ‘Start New Game’ and you’ll be in business.

Note: This is actually SpeedScraper, and not Beggars' Canyon.
